  1. The gifts I gave with the most longevity: Kiva Cards! Micro-loans to entrepreneurs in developing countries. A powerful, easy way to pay it forward.

    One of the best gifts I received was a Kindle for Christmas. When this device first came out a few years ago, I turned up my nose. But living internationally, it just makes sense for most of my books to be electronic. Here’s to traveling light.
