December 6 – Salud (Health)

What did you do for your body’s benefit this year?
(Special thanks to Jeffrey Davis for providing today’s prompt.)
Our bodies are our temples. How were you mindful of your physical health throughout 2011? Did you change your diet or exercise routine? Did you practice yoga or meditation? How well did you take care of your body this year? Share your experiences in the comments section below by posting a response and/or a link to the #reverb11 post on your blog.

  1. I love this quote. Upping the amount that I teach yoga and meditation caused me to be more conscious of my own personal practice. It has been such a gift!

Also, adopting a dog who is very active got me up and away from my computer a lot more often this year. Good for my body and mind to have him in my life!

  2. I don’t really want to answer this question, because I feel like I’m not treating my body as well as I could or “should” or have in the past. I do practice yoga and eat reasonably healthily and meditate and walk and sometimes swim … My intention is to do all those things with more discipline and focus in the coming year.

Really, what is most important to my health (physical, mental, emotional & spiritual) is meditation. My daily sitting meditation practice (of anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes) is what keeps me sane and balanced.

  3. Thanks for reverbing, Christa! Yoga and meditation are such gifts. I don’t know what I’d do without them! Have a fun holiday season with your puppy!
    Namaste, Michelle

  4. I started a regular walking practice and walked my first half-marathon in May. I plan to do it again next year with 3 members of my family. Also did Marianne Elliott’s 30 Days of Yoga and am trying to have more of a daily practice. Here’s to better health all around.
